Blue

Pink
Pink sapphires vary from a very pale pink to nearly red. Of course, a completely red sapphire is called a ruby. The most popular shade is currently a "hot" pink stone, which is often chosen as an alternative to a pink diamond.
Padparadscha
This is a very rare pink-orange stone, named after the Sinhalese word for lotus blossom. They are mined in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Africa. Padparadscha sapphires often command higher prices than the finest blue sapphires.
Star
A star sapphire contains needle-like inclusions (minerals that occur naturally in the stone) that form in a star pattern- this phenomenon is called asterism. The stone is usually cut to frame the star pattern in the center. The star pattern is typically six-sided, and is visible when viewed in overhead light. Star sapphires can be extremely valuable.
Color Change
Another very rare variety of sapphire is the color-change variety. These stones may be blue in outdoor light, and purple under indoor incandescent light; or pink in daylight, and green under fluorescent light. The degree of change may be dramatic or subtle. Color change sapphires are mainly mined in Tanzania. Some synthetic color-change sapphires are sold as alexandrite.
Synthetic
Natural stones are often prohibitively expensive, especially in the larger sizes, so synthetic sapphires can be a good, affordable option. Many "treated" natural stones, while not technically synthetic, are also more affordable than natural untreated stones. These are usually cloudy or dull stones that have been heat-treated to deepen the color and increase the clarity.

How much would a 2 carat, flawless, 100% natural Padparadscha sapphire from Tanzania with amazing luster and color be worth as an estimate?
Answer:
True padparadscha sapphires come from Sri Lanka, similar colour stones from other sources command far lower prices. I have severe doubts about any of the corundums that come from Tanzania. I checked through my records recently and at least 98% of all those I have tested in the last five years (despite assurances to the contrary in many cases) have proved to have been treated in some way (mainly heating) to "improve" their colour. Providing your stone is from the other 2% and is of the fine padparadscha colour, and not one of the many other shades that get erroneously given that name these days, I would say something like $1500 to about $2200 per carat would be a fair price to pay.
